Dr. Liz Sanli is an Educator and Researcher in the School of Maritime Studies. Her research focuses on performance, learning, and behaviour change in complex, work-related contexts such as seafaring, firefighting, and fish harvesting. She studies how components of training such as instruction, demonstrations, feedback, and practice organization can impact how well, and for how long, skills are retained. She also studies the roles of training and performance contexts (e.g., social, physical, & psychological environments) on learning and retention of skills and knowledge. This research informs her course design and teaching. Dr. Sanli is a Sr. Researcher at MI and is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Brock University. Dr. Sanli holds a Ph.D. in Kinesiology from McMaster University, an M.Sc. In Applied Health Science, Kinesiology and a B.Kin. from Brock University, as well as a B.Ed. from Memorial University.
