For two days this week, students and employers will learn more about each other at the Marine Institute's annual Career Fair Feb. 8 and 9.
This event offers Marine Institute students and alumni an opportunity to network with employers and learn more about the hands-on application of their field of study. Employers have an opportunity to meet students face-to-face and showcase their business to potential employees.
Now in its tenth year, the MI Career Fair gives students and alumni the opportunity to learn more about current and future career opportunities while also providing the chance to network with representatives from a variety of companies. Once again this year, the career fair is sold out with almost 40 companies and industry associations from the oceans, marine, food, fishing, marine transportation, aquaculture and ocean technology sectors attending the two-day event. More than more than 400 attendees, including Marine Institute students, alumni, and the public are expected to participate.
The 2012 Career Fair starts on Feb. 8 with Company and Alumni Presentations in Hampton Hall and the Industry Seminar Room from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Industry representatives will highlight employment opportunities, profile industry partnerships, and feature MI alumni success stories. The Company and Alumni Presentations continue on Feb. 9. Also on Feb. 9, the Career Fair Exhibition takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the MI gymnasium.
Students will have the opportunity to meet exhibitors and discuss their company and career opportunities available for both work term and full-time employment.
