The Fisheries and Marine Institute (MI) of Memorial University hosts its annual Spring Presentation of Scholarships and Awards on Thursday, March 24 at 12 p.m.
The ceremony will take place in Hampton Hall at the Marine Institute’s Ridge Rd. campus in St. John’s. Members of the media and the general public are invited to attend.
Speakers at the event include Glenn Blackwood, executive director, MI; and Dr. Evan Simpson, vice president (academic), Memorial University. Dr. Peter Fisher, head, academic and student affairs, Marine Institute, will present the scholarships.
More than 20 scholarships will be presented to close to 30 MI students during the ceremony, including four scholarships that are being awarded for the first time. Included in this group are the Dr. Aidan Maloney Scholarship in Fisheries (Resource Management); the Cory Eddy Memorial Scholarship; the ESRI Canada GIS Scholarship; and the Rose Hatfield Healthy Living Bursary.
