The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland (MI) has announced that due to an overwhelming response, all simulation tours of Captain Bob Bartlett's historic 1909 voyage to the Arctic have been booked and there are no more tour openings at this time
In the event tour participants are unable to attend, each tour may be able to accept a limited number of walk-ons. However, those with a reservation will be accommodated first.
The Marine Institute thanks everyone who has displayed an interest in the simulation of Captain Bartlett’s voyage in the Roosevelt.
Originally the simulation tours were scheduled to run twice daily on Tuesday and Thursday of each week from July 7 to August 6. After great public demand, more tours were added in an attempt to allow as many people as possible to experience the simulation. However, these openings were also filled very quickly, due to an outpouring of interest by people eager to learn more about Captain Bartlett and his famous trip to the Arctic.
