This program is designed to provide the technical and practical knowledge necessary to run, maintain, and repair marine engines and auxiliary machinery.
We offer workshop, classroom, and work term experience that will prepare you for a career in the operation and maintenance of a ship’s engine room.

Candidates for admission to the Technical Certificate in Marine Diesel Mechanics require a Grade 12 High School Diploma; a Grade 11 Public Examination Matriculation Certificate; a Level III Adult Basic Education (ABE) Certificate; or other qualifications judged by the Marine Institute to be high school equivalent.
Non-academic requirements include proof of physical fitness through a valid medical certificate and a criminal records check.
