Aquaculture has been identified as an important economic priority for the Canadian and provincial governments, with a growing demand for people to be employed in long-term sustainable positions. The Certificate in Aquaculture is designed to enhance the skills of the existing workforce and train new workers for entry into the fin fish sector.
The program consists of five core courses, seven elective courses and a minimum of 25 days on an aquaculture farm to obtain credit for practical skills training. Programs can be delivered over a 12 week offering, or through stacking individual courses.
Applicants should possess the equivalent of a minimum grade twelve education or appropriate education and/or industry experience acceptable to the admissions committee.

No. You may register for only specific courses, or you may wish to work towards completing the entire Certificate in Aquaculture.
Yes. The Certificate in Aquaculture can be delivered in a community, pending minimum enrollment requirements are met. Please contact CBED to indicate your interest in the Certificate in Aquaculture in a community.
