You're finally on your way to becoming a Marine Institute graduate and alumnus!
Apply for Graduation online through Student Self Service. Graduation requirements differ for each program. For most programs, you must successfully complete all of your program courses and have an average of 60%.
You must also have completed the required sea time for:
Your sea time must be logged with Transport Canada. You must submit an official document from Transport Canada demonstrating your sea time to your respective program chair.
A few weeks before the graduation ceremony, students will be sent communication asking them to confirm if they will be attending. Those who are attending will be able to confirm the amount of guest tickets required (up to three) as well as other details.
For those who are not planning to attend the graduation ceremony, parchments will be available for pick up the following week from the Office of the Registrar. Students who are not available locally can choose to have their parchments mailed to them. Details regarding pick up or mail out of parchments will be sent to the student’s MUN email.
Gowns and caps can be picked up on Graduation Day from 11 am - 1:30 pm in room W2048. Once the ceremony is over and you've taken your pictures, please return the academic dress to room W2048. Your official diploma will be available once your return your academic dress.
The graduation rehearsal begins at 10:00 am on Friday, June 19 in the Gymnasium. All graduates and heads of schools must attend. Graduation takes place Friday, June 19 at 2:00 pm in the Marine Institute Gymnasium. The ceremony is approximately one hour and 30 minutes in length.
